Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine therapy needs and establish individualized treatment goals. Implement therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to improve mobility, strength, and function while monitoring progress and adjusting plans as necessary. Educate patients and families on procedures, home exercises, and injury prevention, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Properly delegate tasks to physical therapy assistants and adapt to changing patient schedules and daily patterns. Adhere to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist
- Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- CPR certification
- Any other relevant certifications as required by state regulations
- Ability to move around freely to assist patients and therapists
- Capable of lifting and carrying equipment or assisting patients as needed (up to 50 pounds)
- Extended periods of standing and walking during therapy sessions
- Proficiency in handling therapy tools and equipment
- Ability to observe patients and communicate effectively
- Adaptability to changing tasks and schedules in a dynamic healthcare environment
Desired Qualifications
- Strong clinical skills with experience in orthopedic, neurological, or geriatric physical therapy
