Job Summary
Conduct individualized physical therapy programs including assessment, treatment planning, implementation, and education to maximize patient functional goals. Evaluate functional needs and outcomes, then adjust care plans based on thorough assessments of potential development. Direct support staff to achieve patients' functional goals while maintaining positive relationships with other health professionals and ancillary staff. Design and implement care plans that incorporate participation by significant others whenever appropriate. Maintain current licensure and adhere to hospital policies, quality improvement programs, and infection control standards. Document evaluations, treatment goals, and plans regularly, updating prescriptions and signatures as required. Provide leadership and act as a resource to promote physical therapy in the community. Requires APTA-approved degree, current state license, and at least one year of experience as a physical therapy aide.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services
- Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations
- Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program
- At least one year of experience as a physical therapy aide
- Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements
- Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables
- Demonstrates the ability to listen actively and evaluate social situations in an objective, consistent and fair manner
- Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the policies in the Handbook
