Job Summary
Conduct individualized physical therapy programs including assessment, treatment planning, implementation, and education to maximize patient functional goals. Evaluate functional needs and outcomes, adjust care plans, and design treatment strategies incorporating significant others as appropriate. Direct support staff to achieve patient objectives while maintaining positive relationships with other health professionals. Document evaluations, treatment goals, and plans regularly, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols. Communicate effectively with specialists and staff to drive positive patient outcomes and enhance professional development through ongoing education.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services
- Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations
- Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program
- At least one year of experience as a physical therapy aide
- Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements
- Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables
- Demonstrates the ability to listen actively and evaluate social situations in an objective, consistent and fair manner
- Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the policies in the Handbook
