Job Summary
Conduct individualized physical therapy programs including assessment, treatment planning, implementation, and education to maximize patient functional goals. Evaluate outcomes, adjust care plans, and design interventions based on thorough assessments while directing support staff to achieve residents' objectives. Provide direct patient care, consult with specialists, and maintain positive relationships with ancillary staff. Document evaluations, treatment goals, and plans regularly while adhering to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols. Maintain current licensure and engage in continuous professional development through educational programs and workshops.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services
- Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations
- Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program
- At least one year of experience as a physical therapy aide
- Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements
- Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables
- Demonstrates the ability to listen actively and evaluate social situations in an objective, consistent and fair manner
- Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the policies in the Handbook
