Job Summary
Conduct physical therapy services including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, and discharge planning for patients in outpatient orthopedic settings. Perform specific assessments, explain findings to patients and families, and incorporate them into goal setting. Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation findings and consult with healthcare professionals as needed. Document patient care activities, progress summaries, and charges accurately while managing an accurate schedule to meet productivity expectations. Provide clinical instruction to students and assist with orientation and mentoring of new staff and volunteers.
Required Qualifications
- licensed physical therapist
- professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy
- demonstrated use of varied evaluation and treatment approaches
- customer service skills for interacting with patients
- communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds
- effective communication
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
- Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy
- Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure
- American Heart Association's BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) certification
