Job Summary
Conduct physical therapy services including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, and discharge planning. Document patient care activities through focused initial evaluations, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluations. Explain findings and treatment plans to patients and families while incorporating them into goal setting. Manage accurate schedules to ensure frictionless patient access and meet productivity expectations. Consult with healthcare professionals as needed and recognize changes in patient conditions requiring plan modifications. Pursue continuing education and serve as a clinical instructor for students and new staff.
Required Qualifications
- licensed physical therapist
- professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy
- demonstrated use of varied evaluation and treatment approaches
- customer service skills for interacting with patients, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds
- effective communication
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
- Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy
- Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure
- American Heart Association's BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers
- CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) certification
