Job Summary
Provide evaluation services including review of historical information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations. Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation findings and patient presentation, consulting with healthcare professionals as indicated. Complete discharge planning and follow-up care while accurately documenting patient care activities, progress summaries, and discharge evaluations. Manage an accurate schedule, meet productivity expectations, and demonstrate effective time management. Take initiative in pursuing continuing education and serve as a clinical instructor to assign students. Assist with orientation and mentoring of inexperienced staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.
Required Qualifications
- licensed physical therapist
- professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy
- demonstrated use of varied evaluation and treatment approaches
- customer service skills for interacting with patients, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds
- effective communication
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
- Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy
- Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure
- American Heart Association's BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) certification
