Job Summary
Provide therapy services consistent with licensure, including evaluating patients, establishing plans of care, implementing treatment, directing and educating patients or caregivers, and completing documentation. Supervise therapy assistants, technicians, students, and volunteers as applicable. Communicate with other healthcare providers regarding client care and treatment plans, while providing training and education for hospital staff as requested. Review and complete all insurance authorization requirements, assist with performance improvement for the rehab department and hospital, and understand use and precautions of treatments and equipment. Attend continuing education programs and present findings to appropriate staff. Positively contribute to the departmental financial performance and productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited PT program
- Virginia State Therapy License, Physical Therapist Trainee in Virginia, or Compact Privilege
- Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs
- Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills
- Attention to detail and ability to write legibly
- May require the use of safety equipment, such as HEPA mask, for infection prevention
- On call responsibilities as directed
- Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed
