Job Summary
Conduct direct rehab care for patients upon physician referral by establishing, assessing, and modifying realistic treatment goals while following all applicable laws and Life Care standards. Oversee and evaluate care provided by PTAs, Rehab Aides, and PT and PTA students, ensuring appropriate charting and utilization of therapy software. Liaise with patients, families, and support departments to plan for patient needs, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate good body mechanics during tasks such as patient evacuation. Communicate productively on an interdisciplinary team, implement departmental policies, and adhere to the Code of Conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy, BSPT, MSPT, or DPT (2003 or later must have MSPT or DPT)
- Currently registered/licensed in applicable State
- Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation
- CPR certification must remain current during employment
- Must demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
- Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
