Job Summary
PRN Physical Therapist position at University Physical Therapy—Christiansburg. Responsibilities include assessing patients and developing/initiating treatment plans based on evaluations; providing direct patient care per established protocols and guidelines; documenting findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers; supervising assistants and rehabilitation technicians; completing a written plan of care and setting goals; implementing treatment programs and delivering essential therapies; maintaining timely documentation (daily notes, reports, discharge summaries, incident reports); communicating effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurance companies; and ensuring comprehensive documentation. The role supports specialties in balance and vestibular rehabilitation, gait analysis, sports injury, spine rehabilitation, and pre/post-surgical rehab. Requirements include CAPTE-accredited PT education, Virginia PT license, CPR certification, and proficiency with EMR and related software. The position emphasizes an autonomous, patient-centered clinical approach and a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program
- Current Virginia Physical Therapy license
- CPR certification
- Ability to create and implement outpatient balance and vestibular rehabilitation treatment plans
- Ability to work autonomously
- PC skills including EMR systems, database software, and MS Office
