Job Summary
Assess and evaluate patients' therapeutic status, including muscle strength, mobility, and range of motion, while directing physical therapy treatment according to a physician's plan of care. Instruct patients and caregivers on appliance use and treatment regimes, supervise therapy assistants, and participate in case conferences and discharge planning. Prepare clinical summaries, report on patient reactions, and refer for additional services as needed. Maintain coordinated care through communication with other personnel. Requires a valid state license, two years of clinical experience, and a licensed driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Possesses a degree from a baccalaureate or Master's program in physical therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
- Hold a valid and current license to practice physical therapy in state employed
- Two (2) years of clinical experience as a physical therapist
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills
- Familiarity with general use and functions of the computer, including starting programs, using files, apps and navigating screens
- Use of internet, e-mail, and understanding confidentiality of user names and passwords
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order
- Some travel may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Apple iPads and iPods a plus
