Job Summary
Physical Therapist (PRN) duties include evaluating and diagnosing movement dysfunction, developing and implementing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, and administering therapeutic interventions (manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, electrical stimulation, ultrasound) to reduce pain and restore mobility. The role involves educating patients and caregivers, training on assistive devices, documenting evaluations and progress, collaborating with physicians and therapists, supervising PT Assistants and students, and staying current with PT techniques. Work is primarily in a clinical setting with up to ~5% travel; requires a PT license and a BS or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy, plus demonstrated communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Required Qualifications
- BS or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from a physical therapy program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association
- Current Physical Therapy license for state of operation
- Knowledge of responsible use of facility equipment and preventative maintenance procedures
- Experience with recommending assistive equipment to patients and outpatient or home health follow-up programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work with patients, families, and various stakeholders
- Provide annual verification of negative TB skin test
- Ability to supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and students
- Willingness to stay up-to-date on PT techniques through continuing education
