Job Summary
Assess residents' physical therapy needs and match them with available services, then meet regularly to evaluate, maintain progress records, and report updates to management and family members. Repeat professional evaluations on a regular basis to measure progress according to guidelines while keeping current with literature and attending seminars to maintain skills. Requires state licensure or eligibility to apply for one, plus the NPTE or eligibility to take it, along with hearing ability sufficient to evaluate needs and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program as a physical therapist (PT)
- Taken the NPTE or eligible to take it
- State license to practice as a PT or eligible to apply for one
- Hearing ability sufficient to evaluate residents' physical therapy needs
- Skill communicating verbally and in writing with residents and family members so that all parties understand the program and the degree of progress being made
