Job Summary
Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients with brain injury, spinal cord injury, or stroke. Regularly re-assess treatment effectiveness, attend staffing meetings and family conferences, and conduct discharge evaluations to recommend home and community safety resources. Communicate patient needs and progress to the treatment team, physicians, and families while collaborating with other disciplines to coordinate care. Provide referral and education resources to support patient independence. Requires a bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, current state license, and BLS/CPR certification. Minimum one year of work experience preferred. Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Join a collaborative outpatient team focused on functional rehabilitation outside institutional settings.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from a college or university with accredited Physical Therapy program
- Current, unrestricted license as Physical Therapist by state in which practicing
- Current Basic Life Support or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification in accordance state regulations
- A minimum of one year's work experience as a physical therapist preferred
- Demonstrates knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological injury
- Communicates effectively and professionally in verbal and written interactions
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Moving, lifting, or transferring of patients which may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
