Job Summary
Assess patients upon initial encounter to evaluate impairment, estimate rehabilitation potential, and determine treatment needs. Develop individualized treatment programs including functional mobility training, therapeutic exercise, and modalities like massage and cryotherapy. Conduct diagnostic tests for strength, motor control, sensation, and gait analysis to guide care. Direct and aid patients in therapeutic regimens while supervising Physical Therapy Assistants, aides, and students. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to coordinate care, modify plans based on progress, and report status for discharge planning. Maintain accurate medical records, complete documentation, and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved program for Physical Therapy
- Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients as specialty assignment dictates
- Experience in physical therapy as obtained through completion of an approved Physical Therapy program
