Job Summary
Conduct musculoskeletal evaluations and interventions for fighter aircrew, focusing on neck and back pain caused by flight demands. Design, implement, and monitor individualized injury prevention and rehabilitation programs while ordering imaging, labs, and specialist consultations as needed. Document all work performed in approved electronic record systems and educate aircrew and leadership on injury prevention, ergonomics, and recovery strategies. Comply with all DHA, DoD, and MTF protocols as an embedded asset supporting the Optimizing the Human Weapon System program.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy from CAPTE-accredited program
- 5+ years' experience as a PT in Collegiate, Professional, Olympic, Tactical (military), Aerospace industry, or similar environment supporting man-machine high-performance
- Experience must include recency within the last 2 years
- Current healthcare provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current (or ability to obtain and maintain) Secret security clearance (T3 background investigation)
- U.S. Citizenship required for Secret Security Clearance
- Expert ability to assess injury as well as treat acute and chronic conditions
- Strong clinical decision-making and documentation skills
- Effective communication with Aircrew, squadron leadership, and multidisciplinary team members
- Knowledge of DHA and MTF electronic documentation systems
Desired Qualifications
- ABPTS OCS or SCS certification
- Orthopedic or Sports residency / Fellowship Trained
- Advanced Dry Needling Certification (Level 2) and Orthopedic Manual Therapy (OMT) Certification
