Job Summary
Meet with patients to collect medical history, evaluate physical ability, and develop rehabilitative treatment programs. Use therapeutic procedures, exercise, or equipment to restore movement, strength, or flexibility, while periodically re-evaluating patient status to modify care plans. Coordinate care across an interdisciplinary team and oversee physical therapy assistants, rehab aides, trainers, and other allied health professionals. Maintain patient confidentiality, safety, and compliance with Medicare and legal regulations. Establish and enforce standards to ensure a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy
- Physical Therapy license
- Current CPR certification
- Competency in PT evaluation, assessment, care planning and treatment
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and to lift 100 pounds
- Must be able to use a variety of equipment including telephone, writing instruments, PC, fax and physical therapy equipment
