Job Summary
Meet with patients to collect medical history, evaluate physical ability, and develop rehabilitative treatment programs aimed at maximizing function or reducing pain. Utilize therapeutic procedures, exercise, and equipment to restore movement, strength, or flexibility, while periodically re-evaluating patient status to modify care plans. Coordinate interdisciplinary care by overseeing physical therapy assistants, rehab aides, trainers, and other allied health professionals. Educate patients and families regarding recovery expectations throughout the process, ensuring strict adherence to patient confidentiality, safety, and compliance with Medicare and quality initiatives. Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing established standards and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy
- Physical Therapy license
- Current CPR certification
- Competency in PT evaluation, assessment, care planning and treatment
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and to lift 100 pounds
- Must be able to use a variety of equipment including telephone, writing instruments, PC, fax and physical therapy equipment
