Job Summary
Meet with patients to collect medical history, evaluate physical ability, and develop rehabilitative treatment programs aimed at maximizing function or reducing pain. Use therapeutic procedures, exercise, or equipment to restore movement, strength, or flexibility, while periodically re-evaluating patient status and modifying care plans. Coordinate care across an interdisciplinary team of providers and oversee physical therapy assistants, rehab aides, trainers, and other allied health professionals. Maintain patient confidentiality, ensure safety, and comply with Medicare and quality initiatives. Establish and enforce standards for a safe, secure work environment. Requires a Physical Therapy license, graduate degree, and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy
- Physical Therapy license
- Current CPR certification
- Competency in PT evaluation, assessment, care planning and treatment
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and to lift 100 pounds
- Must be able to use a variety of equipment including telephone, writing instruments, PC, fax and physical therapy equipment
