Job Summary
Evaluate physical therapy needs and implement comprehensive, medically prescribed treatment for assigned patients in a vestibular rehabilitation program. Conduct initial assessments by reviewing medical charts to clarify referral orders, select appropriate assessment tools, and develop optimal treatment plans with achievable goals. Execute treatment protocols according to professional standards, utilizing validated approaches and assistive devices while educating patients and families on rehabilitation techniques. Complete all required documentation for patient care and reimbursement, including daily treatment records and clinical documentation through JACHO/CARF requirements. Participate in clinical education by supervising fieldwork students and other professional educational endeavors. Maintain proficiency in skills required to treat the assigned patient population and meet individual unit productivity procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
- New York State Physical Therapy License or temporary permit
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- BLS certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA, or the American Red Cross-ARC) OR CPR/AED certification (issued by the American Heart Association-AHA, or the American Red Cross-ARC)
- Phys Thrpst Temp Permit-NYS
- Phys Thrpst License-NYS
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field
- Minimum of two years experience working with patients with Vestibular dysfunction
