Job Summary
Evaluate and treat patients in acute care, nursing home, short-term rehabilitation, and outpatient settings to restore physical abilities and prevent disabilities. Develop comprehensive plans of care based on clinical assessments of functional problems, then oversee services provided by Physical Therapy Assistants and aides. Perform daily documentation following evaluations and treatments while coordinating care with multi-disciplinary team members to maximize functional outcomes. Operate therapy equipment including safe patient handling devices and exercise machines, and assist in quality improvement and new programming initiatives. Maintain licensure and adhere to professional standards, policies, and Joint Commission requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited College or University
- NYS license to practice PT, or a valid temporary permit as per NYSED licensing requirements
- BLS CPR - within 6 months of date of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree of DPT
- Experience as a Physical Therapist prior to employment
