Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive physical assessments of residents' mobility, strength, gait, balance, and functional abilities. Develop individualized care plans and provide interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility assistance using assistive devices. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, educate families and staff on safe transfers and fall prevention, and document all treatments in compliance with regulatory requirements. Work within an interdisciplinary team to coordinate resident care and maintain a safe, clean treatment environment. This PRN role supports long-term care residents at Pawtucket Falls to enhance their independence and quality of life.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate (DPT) or Master's/Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
- Licensed to practice in Rhode Island
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, mobility training, and assistive devices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to document care accurately and meet regulatory/payer documentation requirements
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to improving resident quality of life and independence
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working in geriatrics, skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings
