Job Summary

Evaluate patients injured on the job or with work-related illnesses according to APTA and state standards to determine physical limitations and develop treatment plans. Create rehabilitation programs to help patients regain strength, flexibility, and range of motion, while monitoring progress and adjusting plans as necessary. Educate patients on their conditions, treatment options, and preventative measures, and coordinate care with healthcare professionals and specialists. Report patient progress to caregivers, facility staff, and involved professionals, and maintain accurate documentation. Report patient progress to patient, patient caregivers and loved ones, facility staff and healthcare professionals involved in ongoing treatment/care of patients. Maintain professional knowledge through educational workshops and publications, and assist facility staff to ensure a clean, orderly environment. Work in a fast-paced setting with intermittent movement, lifting up to 100 pounds, and extended periods of sitting or walking.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
  • Must have working knowledge of Medicare and other payer sources.
  • Must have full knowledge of resident's rights.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a current California Physical Therapy license.
  • Must have graduated of an APTA accredited physical therapy program.
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (with AED).
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up and over 100 pounds with assistance according to the resident's abilities.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to reach assigned destination in a reasonable time frame.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, push, stoop, and pull as needed especially in fulfilling patient care activities.
  • Must be able to meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, including physical examination.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy (Preferred).
