Job Summary
Plans, organizes and delivers physical therapy programs to help clients/patients/residents recover and improve their mobility, relieve pain, increase strength and prevent deformities. Conducts examinations, evaluations, and interventions for individuals affected by injury or disease. Utilizes tools and techniques to administer physical therapy interventions following safeguards. Documents client/patient/resident information for evaluation and establishes therapeutic plans, modifying them as necessary. Educates clients/patients/residents and their family members about treatment plans and home self-exercises. Applies age-appropriate assessments and current research to daily treatment. May treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnoses and disorders. Demonstrates and documents adherence to departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements. Exhibits flexibility with variable work schedules/assignments. May supervise assistants, aides, and students and provide ongoing education to peers. Depending on facility needs, focus may include post-acute, long-term care, and home health environments. Collaborates with providers, case managers, third party payers, and external partners.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist in the state(s) of practice
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers
- Valid driver's license (when applicable)
- Ability to perform and document evaluations, examinations, interventions
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and professional guidelines
- Flexibility to accommodate variable schedules
