Job Summary
Plan, organize, and deliver physical therapy programs to help clients recover mobility, relieve pain, and prevent deformities. Conduct examinations and evaluations for individuals affected by injury or disease, utilizing tools and techniques to administer interventions following established safeguards. Establish therapeutic plans, modify them as necessary, and document all information in accordance with departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements. Educate patients and family members on treatment schedules and self-exercise techniques for home continuation. Demonstrate current research knowledge in daily treatment and adhere to accepted clinical practice guidelines. May supervise assistants, aides, and students, while interacting with providers, case managers, and third-party payers. Focus on post-acute, long-term care, and home health environments as facility needs dictate.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
- Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as a Physical Therapist
- Valid driver's license (when applicable)
- Required department specific competencies and certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment
