Job Summary

Conduct screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treatment of injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities. Consult, educate, and train patients, families, and caregivers while collaborating with care teams to deliver patient-centered care. Develop care plans with specific goals based on patient assessments and maintain thorough, timely patient records. Manage all aspects of patient care and education, including supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students. Meet established productivity standards and complete patient billing accurately. Participate in utilization review audits, quality improvement processes, interdisciplinary meetings, and program development to achieve department goals. Required Qualifications

  • Current Physical Therapist license in states where you work
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Current driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment including items of varying weights up to and including heavy items
  • Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
  • Ability to navigate crowded and busy rooms full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.
  • Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Ability to complete patient billing accurately and promptly
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers about patient needs and goals
  • Ability to supervise assistants, aides, office staff, and students
  • Ability to participate in and promote continuing education opportunities for self and staff according to licensure requirements
  • Ability to participate in utilization review audits
  • Ability to participate in patient care conferences, interdisciplinary meetings, staff meetings, and necessary professional and work groups
  • Ability to contribute to program development and marketing strategies to grow the physical therapy program and achieve department goals
  • Ability to promote mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health and abide by service standards
  • Ability to provide skilled physical therapy services staying updated on standard practices for different patient groups
  • Ability to conduct evaluations and treatments according to professional standards (APTA) considering diagnosis, history, and physician referrals and develop care plans with specific goals based on patient assessments
  • Ability to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of rehabilitation services
  • Ability to engage in quality improvement processes including safe equipment use, improving clinical outcomes, patient access, patient experience, and all aspects of the Intermountain Operating Model
  • Ability to meet established productivity standards for the department or service line
  • Must be available for flexible weekday shifts - no weekends or holidays
