Job Summary

Conduct screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treatment of injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities. Consult, educate, and train patients, families, and caregivers while collaborating with care teams to deliver patient-centered care. Develop care plans with specific goals based on patient assessments and ensure smooth operations of rehabilitation services. Manage all aspects of patient care and education, including supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students. Keep thorough patient records, complete patient billing accurately, and participate in utilization review audits and interdisciplinary meetings. Promote continuing education and contribute to program development strategies to achieve department goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Physical Therapist license in states where you work
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Current driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
  • Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
  • Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Availability for flexible weekday shifts - no weekends or holidays
  • Participation in and promotion of continuing education opportunities for self and staff
  • Participation in utilization review audits
  • Participation in patient care conferences, interdisciplinary meetings, staff meetings, and necessary professional and work groups
  • Ability to collaborate with care teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to consult, educate, and train patients, families, and caregivers
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers
  • Ability to keep thorough and timely patient records as required by regulations and facility policies
  • Ability to complete patient billing accurately and promptly
