Job Summary
Conduct screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treatment of injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities. Provide skilled services by consulting, educating, and training patients, families, and caregivers while collaborating with care teams to deliver patient-centered care. Develop care plans with specific goals based on patient assessments and ensure smooth operations by supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students. Maintain thorough patient records, complete billing accurately, and participate in utilization review audits, interdisciplinary meetings, and quality improvement processes. Engage in continuing education and contribute to program development strategies to achieve department goals.
Required Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist license in states where you work
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Current driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients
- Ability to push/pull gurneys and portable equipment
- Ability to navigate crowded and busy rooms
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Basic computer skills
