Job Summary
Evaluates and treats patients through medically prescribed physical therapy programs for movement dysfunction and pain resulting from injury, disease, or disability. Performs initial and ongoing assessments, establishes and revises a plan of care involving patients and families, delivers therapy interventions, and educates patients/families and staff. Supports discharge planning, provides home instructions and recommendations for equipment or home modifications, and ensures appropriate follow-up care. Oversees physical therapy assistants, students, and other staff; maintains thorough documentation of patient responses and intervention needs. Works in a hospital inpatient setting with a 32-hour weekly schedule, offering 4–5 day options. Requires licensure in IL/MO/OK/WI and BLS HCP certification within 90 days. The role emphasizes collaboration with patients, families, and other health care providers and includes opportunities for mentorship and continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's/Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in IL, MO, OK, or WI
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) within 90 days of employment
