Job Summary
Evaluate assigned patients by gathering data from records, interviews, and observations. Develop and implement individualized treatment programs, instructing patients and caregivers on home exercises. Provide direct therapy services using various functional settings to achieve treatment goals while coordinating with medical and nursing care plans. Prepare documentation including evaluation results, treatment plans, and progress notes. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members regarding status and needs. Oversee physical therapy assistants, techs, and students to ensure safe patient care and smooth departmental operation. Maintain knowledge of proper equipment use and participate in educational programs for professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Active license in the state of practice upon hire
- Physical Therapist - Licensing Board
- Ability to work the hours specified
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
