Job Summary
Evaluate patients and families, conduct specialized assessments including goniometry and muscle strength testing, and implement physical therapy treatment plans involving therapeutic exercise, gait training, and modalities. Document progress, revise care plans, and establish teaching protocols based on patient diagnosis and available resources. Independently manage patient assignments, maintain clinical records with 95% accuracy, and submit admission and daily reports within 48 and 24 hours respectively. Organize multidisciplinary case conferences, recommend adaptive equipment, and coordinate discharge planning with physicians and community resources. Requires a PT license in DC, Maryland, or Virginia, a driver's license, and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school
- 1-2 years Clinical experience
- PT - Physical Therapist License to practice Physical Therapy in the District of Columbia Maryland or Virginia or any combination based on work location(s) Upon Hire
- DL - Valid State Driver's License in good standing with a dependable vehicle for transportation Upon Hire
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
- Good clinical skills
- Organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of home equipment home care reimbursement and regulations governing PTAs
