Job Summary
Conduct home-based physical therapy evaluations, including interviews, observations, and specialized assessments like goniometry and muscle strength testing. Independently implement and modify treatment plans for patients with routine to complex problems, utilizing therapeutic exercises, gait training, and modalities such as ultrasound and heat/cold application. Document interventions, progress toward goals, and teach patients/families on prescribed treatments while maintaining accurate clinical records and submitting admission reports within 48 hours. Manage patient assignments, coordinate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and recommend adaptive equipment or home modifications to maximize functional abilities. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, a valid PT license in DC, Maryland, or Virginia, a driver's license, and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school
- 1-2 years Clinical experience
- PT - Physical Therapist License to practice Physical Therapy in the District of Columbia Maryland or Virginia or any combination based on work location(s) Upon Hire
- DL - Valid State Driver's License in good standing with a dependable vehicle for transportation Upon Hire
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
- Good clinical skills
- Organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of home equipment home care reimbursement and regulations governing PTAs
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills preferred
- Smart Phone experience
