Job Summary
Conduct physical therapy evaluations, including interviews, observations, and specialized assessments like goniometry and muscle strength testing, to determine patient habilitation and rehabilitation needs. Implement and independently document treatment plans for patients with routine to complex problems, modifying interventions based on measurable progress toward goals. Perform therapeutic exercises, functional mobility training, gait training, and modalities such as heat/cold application and ultrasound while recommending adaptive equipment and home modifications. Establish visit schedules, communicate with patients, families, and the health care team, and initiate case conferences for mutual goal setting. Maintain clinical records, submit admission and daily reports within 24 and 48 hours respectively, and organize patient assignments to manage caseload productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school
- 1-2 years Clinical experience
- PT - Physical Therapist License to practice Physical Therapy in the District of Columbia Maryland or Virginia or any combination based on work location(s) Upon Hire
- DL - Valid State Driver's License in good standing with a dependable vehicle for transportation Upon Hire
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
- Good clinical skills
- Organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of home equipment home care reimbursement and regulations governing PTAs
