Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations through screening and testing to diagnose injuries and disabilities. Design and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based modalities while educating patients and families on self-management strategies. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and students to ensure consistent care delivery. Utilize therapeutic equipment safely and assist in departmental operations including scheduling, inventory, and budgeting. Promote the physical therapy program through community outreach and patient engagement activities. Deliver care to a diverse demographic ranging from neonates to geriatric individuals.
Required Qualifications
- A current and valid Physical Therapist license for the state of Virginia
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a rehabilitative healthcare setting
- Proficient in therapeutic techniques and practices specific to the varied patient populations encountered
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, families, and colleagues
- Must be available for onsite work at the Chantilly, VA facility
- Must be able to lift and utilize necessary therapeutic equipment safely and effectively
Desired Qualifications
- A Master's degree or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program
- Experience with a diverse patient population
- Previous involvement in mentoring programs or educational training for therapy staff or students
- Knowledge of billing processes and coding for physical therapy services
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and healthcare best practices
