Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations through screening, testing, and assessment to diagnose injuries and health conditions. Design and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based modalities while educating patients and families on rehabilitation techniques and self-management strategies. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, utilize therapeutic equipment safely, and supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and students to ensure consistent care delivery. Assist in preparing departmental operations including scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting, while promoting the program through community outreach and patient engagement activities. Deliver individualized care to a diverse patient demographic ranging from neonates to geriatric individuals.
Required Qualifications
- A current and valid Physical Therapist license for the state of Virginia
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a rehabilitative healthcare setting
- Proficient in therapeutic techniques and practices specific to the varied patient populations encountered
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, families, and colleagues
Desired Qualifications
- A Master's degree or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program
- Experience with a diverse patient population
- Previous involvement in mentoring programs or educational training for therapy staff or students
- Knowledge of billing processes and coding for physical therapy services
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and healthcare best practices
