Job Summary
Assess and treat patients across all age groups, from infants to the elderly, while implementing goal settings and treatment plans based on provider orders. Document patient evaluations, progress, and performance to accurately reflect services provided. Supervise therapy personnel and students as assigned, maintaining communication with other disciplines. Keep current on new programs and treatments, participating in special projects as needed. Perform other duties as assigned, including managing developmental needs and appropriate equipment usage for the patient population.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy bachelor's
- Master's or Doctorate program
- Eligible member of APTA
- Valid Physical Therapy License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state
- AHA BLS Provider CPR
- Professional competency as a general practitioner as defined by the American Physical Therapy Association
- Constant (67-100% of workday) walking, standing, use of arms and hands
- Frequent (34-66% of workday) bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting
- Ability to lift 35 lbs
- Ability to push and pull 20 lbs
- Auditory and visual skills to include color determination
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to reach above/overhead
- Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
- Capacity to cope with difficult situations
- Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Must meet driving requirements
