Job Summary
The Physical Therapist serves as a clinical expert in optimizing patient function and mobility through scientifically validated interventions. Conducts advanced evaluations of neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems using validated tools to inform individualized treatment plans; delivers therapeutic interventions based on latest clinical research and best practices; designs and adapts rehabilitation programs; establishes patient-centered goals and uses outcome measures to track progress; discusses results and plans with patients, including in-home programs when appropriate; leads discharge planning; documents progress for physician communication and regulatory needs; prescribes/recommends devices (e.g., wheelchairs, mobility aids, prosthetic/orthopedic devices) and partners with physicians for DME delivery and fitting; supervises students and supports research collaborations to integrate emerging evidence into practice; participates in broader professional development and leadership pathways within the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed to practice in the State of Illinois
- Current CPR or BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
- Ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently to transfer and position patients
