Job Summary
Perform a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Military Treatment Facility. Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on patient evaluations, administering manual exercises, soft tissue mobilization, and traction to improve and maintain function. Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing non-manual exercises, ambulatory activities, and daily-living tasks using assistive devices like crutches, canes, and prostheses. Record treatment responses and progress in patient charts or automated systems while coordinating care with physicians and other staff. Conduct prevention and wellness activities, including education, screening, and promotion of positive health behaviors to support service member readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in physical therapy
- Baccalaureate degree in physical therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2002
- Graduate from a college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapist
- Experience as required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions
