Job Summary
Assess residents, develop and deliver physical therapy programs, and screen for referrals to other disciplines. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients using history, systems review, and appropriate tests to establish diagnoses and determine improvement timelines. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel per state licensure requirements. Implement resident care programs, fit and adjust prosthetic or orthotic devices, and instruct families on discharge recommendations. Consult with physicians on treatment plans, monitor progress, and ensure documentation meets third-party payer requirements. Maintain facility safety, protect resident health information, and interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
- 5 years of progressively responsible experience
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy
- Master's degree in a Physical Therapy related field
- valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice
- Ability to work flexible work hours to support state and federal resident care requirements
- ability to maintain regular attendance
- Computer skills to perform job duties
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality regarding resident and company propriety information
- ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with residents, families, government regulators, and other employees at all levels
