Job Summary
Meet with patients to collect medical history, evaluate physical ability, and develop rehabilitative treatment programs. Use therapeutic procedures, exercise, or equipment to restore movement, strength, or flexibility. Coordinate care across an interdisciplinary team and oversee physical therapy assistants, rehab aides, trainers, or other allied health professionals. Periodically re-evaluate patient status to modify care plans, educate patients on recovery expectations, and maintain confidentiality. Ensure patient safety and compliance with Medicare and quality initiatives while enforcing standards for a secure work environment. Requires a Physical Therapy license and current CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy
- Physical Therapy license
- Current CPR certification
- Competency in PT evaluation, assessment, care planning and treatment
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and to lift 100 pounds
- Must be able to use a variety of equipment including telephone, writing instruments, PC, fax and physical therapy equipment
