Job Summary

Assist the Physical Therapist with patient evaluations and treatment planning while implementing individualized treatment plans under supervision. Provide therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities to improve patients' mobility, strength, balance, and overall function. Monitor and document patients' progress, responses to treatment, and outcomes, and educate patients and families on self-management strategies. Assist with transfers, gait training, and functional activities, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support discharge planning. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with facility policies and follow established safety protocols and infection control procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Strong understanding of physical therapy principles, therapeutic exercises, and rehabilitation techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a commitment to providing quality care

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a skilled nursing setting
  • Experience working with geriatric populations
