Physical Therapist Assistant

Implement physical therapy programs and activities while following established protocols and patient care guidelines. Administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation, and traction to relieve pain. Instruct and assist patients in improving functional activities like ambulation and transfers, while observing responses to treatments and reporting progress to the Physical Therapist and Clinical Director. Fit patients for orthopedic braces and train them in the use of crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs. Compile daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, and incident reports to ensure timely documentation. Requires current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant or ability to obtain it in Virginia, plus CPR certification.
