Job Summary
Prepare equipment and perform housekeeping duties to maintain order in the department. Assist the Physical Therapist in patient treatments by checking for comfort and safety while treating patients of all ages. Manage assigned areas to ensure they remain secure, orderly, and organized. Chart patient records and bookkeeping procedures to maintain confidentiality. Confer with staff to communicate patient needs and treatment progress. Work under the supervision of the Staff Physical Therapist and Clinical Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in physical therapy or graduate from an accredited, Physical Therapy Assistant program
- State of Iowa Licensure
- Must maintain state of Iowa continuing education requirements
- Verification card of current instruction in CPR
- Valid Iowa Drivers License
- Coordination of sight and body movements in various applications of procedures, handling and assisting of patients, and ability to handle the tools and equipment of the profession
- Ability to apply the theory of Physical Therapy
- Ability and competency to operate the equipment of his or her position
- Ability to perform technical procedures
- Ability to speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others
- Supervision and management skills
- Ability to instill confidence in patients, doctors and personnel
