Job Summary
Direct patient care under Physical Therapist supervision, including instructing patients on active/passive exercises, gait training, ADLs, and prosthetic procedures. Observe and document patient responses to treatment, reporting changes in condition to the supervising PT, nurse, or physician. Participate in developing treatment plans and assist with complex evaluations and tests while adhering to state laws and therapy standards. Complete daily notes for each visit and educate families and caregivers on therapy participation. Work independently with periodic support in a 28-bed skilled nursing facility offering in-house therapy, continuing education funding, and a family atmosphere.
Required Qualifications
- degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution
- current, unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in assigned State
- ability to take direction from registered therapists and other team members
- ability to work independently with periodic (daily or less) support and direction
