Job Summary
Conduct physical therapy programs under supervision, administering manual exercises, massage, traction, and modalities like ultrasound and electrical stimulation to treat patients and residents. Instruct and motivate individuals to improve skills while observing treatments to compile progress data and report findings to the rehab director. Assist in evaluating daily living capacities, designing equipment adaptations, and instructing families on adaptive equipment use. Document progress toward established goals, maintain billing records, and ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed. Perform miscellaneous assignments as required and attend educational programs to maintain licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited two-year Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Certified according to national requirements
- Licensed in the state where practicing
- Ability to lift 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighting up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work inside with exposure to some disagreeable conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients/residents, therapy staff and facility personnel
- Capability to execute all terms and conditions set forth in the Employee Handbook
- Ability to work in a safety conscious manner
- Ability to comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- Ability to adhere to the Company policy of a drug free workplace
- Ability to interact in a tactful, diplomatic and humanistic manner with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers
- Ability to maintain a dependable attendance record
- Ability to adhere to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code
