Job Summary
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries and illnesses. Responsibilities include delivering physical therapy interventions such as therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, and manual techniques; assisting in administering established treatment programs; documenting patient care in medical records; instructing patients and families on home management and exercises; maintaining infection control and safety standards; supporting clinic operations with inventory and supply management; and ensuring HIPAA compliance. The role requires an Associate Degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program, a current NJ PTA license, CPR certification, and the ability to travel to patient homes. Physical requirements include lifting up to 250 pounds and maintaining effective communication in English; driving may be required for certain locations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current New Jersey PTA license in good standing
- Current CPR certification
- Must successfully pass criminal background check
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to patient homes if applicable
