Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

PRN Physical Therapist Assistant location Millington, TN. Provide physical therapy under general supervision of a physical therapist, administering passive manual therapeutic exercises and modalities (ther massage, traction, heat, cold packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, UV infrared) to treat patients/residents. Instruct, motivate and assist patients to learn/improve skills; observe and document responses to treatments; assist in evaluating daily living skills and capacities; design/adapt equipment; educate patients and families on programs and adaptive equipment; document progress toward goals; maintain good relations with patients, families and staff; adhere to infection control and safety policies; maintain supplies, billing records, and participate in seminars to maintain licensure. Travel within local area as needed for patient treatment; ability to work indoors with exposure to some disagreeable conditions; comply with policies, patient rights, and drug-free workplace. Must be graduate of accredited PTA program and licensed in the practicing state; lifting requirements and attendance requirements noted.
