Job Summary
Develop direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards and the patient's physician orders, while verifying the Plan of Care prior to each visit. Incorporate patient care goals into therapy care and instruct patients or families on the safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices. Promote Elara Caring's philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality of care, adhering to State Practice Act Guidelines and reporting status changes to the Physical Therapist. Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, pushing, pulling, and transferring patients up to 50 pounds. Requires a current, unrestricted PTA license, 6+ months experience, and ability to travel 50% with a dependable vehicle. Full range of body motion needed; potentially work irregular hours including call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work
- Must have a dependable vehicle
- Valid driver's license
- Current auto insurance in accordance with state laws
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment
- Must be able and willing to travel 50%
Desired Qualifications
- 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred
