Job Summary
The PTA will implement therapy programs created by the Physical Therapist in patients' homes, coordinate changes in condition with the supervising PT, educate patients and families on the therapy plan and home programs, document patient progress, participate in patient conferences and mandatory case conferences, and maintain professional standards and licensing requirements. Requires home-visits in a home-health setting, lifting up to 50 lbs, valid PTA licensure in applicable states, a valid driver’s license, CPR, English proficiency, and ability to travel locally. Emphasizes collaboration with the PT and interdisciplinary team to maximize patient function and meet scheduling and documentation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an APTA-accredited school of physical therapist assistants
- Current PTA license in the state(s) practices in
- Current driver’s license in good standing
- Reliable transportation
- Current CPR certification
- Must read, write and comprehend English
- 1 year experience as a PT in a clinical care setting (preferred home health experience)
