Job Summary
Assess residents' needs and match them with available services, then meet regularly to evaluate, maintain progress records, and report updates to management and families. Reconduct evaluations on a regular basis to measure advancement according to professional guidelines while keeping current with professional literature and attending seminars to maintain skills. Communicate verbally and in writing with residents and family members to ensure all parties understand the program and progress. Requires a graduate of an accredited PTA program, NPTE eligibility or licensure, and sufficient hearing ability.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program as a Physical Therapist Assistant PTA
- Taken the NPTE exam or eligible to take it
- State license to practice as one or eligible to apply for one
- Hearing ability sufficient to evaluate residents' occupational therapy needs
- Skill communicating verbally and in writing with residents and family members so that all parties understand the program and the degree of progress being made
